তিলা ঘুঘু পাখি সম্পর্কে কিছু তথ্য :
তিলা ঘুঘু (বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম: Streptopelia chinensis) Columbidae (কলাম্বিডি) গোত্র বা পরিবারের অন্তর্গত Streptopelia (স্ট্রেপ্টোপেলিয়া) গণের অন্তর্গত অত্যন্ত সুলভ এক প্রজাতির ঘুঘু।[২][৩] খুব বেশি সুলভ পাখি হওয়ায় এদের অনেকগুলো নাম: তিলা ঘুঘু, তেলিয়া ঘুঘু, ছিটে ঘুঘু ইত্যাদি। তিলা ঘুঘুর বৈজ্ঞানিক নামের অর্থ চীনের কণ্ঠীঘুঘু (গ্রিক: streptos = কণ্ঠী, peleia = ঘুঘু, chinensis = চীনের)।[৩] পাখিটি বাংলাদেশ, ভারত ছাড়াও দক্ষিণ ও দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ার বিভিন্ন দেশে দেখা যায়। সারা পৃথিবীতে এক বিশাল এলাকা জুড়ে এদের আবাস, প্রায় ১ কোটি ৩ লাখ বর্গ কিলোমিটার।[৪] বিগত কয়েক দশক ধরে এদের সংখ্যা ক্রমেই বাড়ছে। সেকারণে আই. ইউ. সি. এন. এই প্রজাতিটিকে Least Concern বা ন্যূনতম বিপদগ্রস্ত বলে ঘোষণা করেছে।[১] বাংলাদেশের বন্যপ্রাণী আইনে এ প্রজাতিটি সংরক্ষিত।
