I built a 3-tier aquarium setup to maintain multiple ecosystems in one system ????????
The top tank is a marine (saltwater) tank, and the other two tanks are freshwater setups.
All three tanks are running with sponge filters, which are very effective for maintaining beneficial nitrifying bacteria and keeping the water stable and healthy. Sponge filters are simple, reliable, and perfect for long-term biological filtration.
Before adding any fish, I will run and cycle the tanks for 10 days to allow good bacteria to establish properly.
A slow and patient setup always leads to healthier fish and a stable aquarium.
