In this short video, I’ll take you into the heart of a 180-liter blackwater aquarium, featuring a simple yet atmospheric layout inspired by the dark rivers of South America.

The only fish living in this setup were Ancistrus and Corydoras, perfect for an environment filled with natural driftwood and dried leaves.

The emergent plants — Spatyphyllum, Syngonium, and Pothos — completed the scene with a lush, tropical jungle vibe. ????

I used cherry and oak wood, along with red oak leaves, to give the water its beautiful amber tone.
