My betta fish tried to eat one of my pet shrimp. This aquarium has my custom aquarium cave which helped protect my shrimp. I also have cherry shrimp in this 10 gallon nano aquarium. The betta lives together with the shrimp but I may need to remove the betta to a different aquarium tank.
