Amano shrimp can carry hundreds even thousands of eggs depending on the size and age of the female.
Amano shrimp live coastally, where their larvae (or Zoa) are released and swept out to the sea.
The first few weeks larvae swim in a heads-down position. They are almost transparent and barely visible.
After about 6-7 weeks they convert to shrimplets and then migrate back upstream to freshwater.

Our Fish and Shrimp Keeping Tutorials are based on our DIY experience keeping aquariums with tropical fish, shrimp, and other freshwater or saltwater livestock.
We have mostly freshwater aquarium setup, shrimp keeping and breeding experience, and we have recently started with saltwater aquarium setup.
During aquarium maintenance sessions or while aqua scaping a nano tank, shots were taken in real time or time-lapse with phone or action cameras. Those are some DIY aquarium hobby daily routine ideas for planted tanks, reef tanks, and freshwater aquariums that we and you can use.
Please send us your feedback and thoughts on what you'd want to see more of in the aquarium and fishkeeping hobby!
Music is free license or composed on Ukulele by "the Hand", hope you like it!
