The Story of Simba

Since 2007, #WildlifeSOS has been working with the Maharashtra Forest Department to rescue and reunite leopard cubs with their mothers. Amidst all the cubs successfully reunited with their mothers, a few are left behind, orphaned, and unfit to survive in the wild.

Simba was one such leopard cub, found abandoned in a sugarcane field. Despite several attempts at reunification, his mother never returned, presumably having left the area or worse yet, having succumbed to the perils of living close to human habitation. Simba was rehabilitated at the Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre where he was hand-reared and nurtured into a healthy leopard!

Today, Simba is one year old and is receiving holistic care at the hands of our dedicated team.
