Tarpon The Amazing Reflector Fish. Under Sea, G is going to take you on a journey to see Tarpon The Amazing Reflector Fish. The first time I saw a Tarpon it was so cool, so large and it looked like an amazing reflector fish. Tarpons are hard to film because light reflects straight off of them. Tarpon even has reflective cells in the back of their eyes. This is the reason we call them Tarpon The Amazing Reflector Fish.

Script
- There are few fish that can compare with Tarpon the amazing reflective fish. These hunters can live underwater everywhere, shipwrecks, coral reefs, or mid-water. Tarpons use light as a hunting strategy. The fish will stay behind the light and jump any exposed animal. Tarpons can weigh up to 300 pounds and grow eight feet long. A tarpon's life span can be up to 50 years. Fossil records have shown tarpons swimming in the ocean 125 million years ago. That's before the time of the T-Rex. Tarpon has incredible eyesight. A tarpon eye has five types of cone cells. This adaptation allows the tarpon to see further than birds and insects in the ultraviolet spectrum. Humans have three types of cone cells in our eyes. Some cultures believe that parts of the tarpon can help make medicines. Tarpon scales are rough like fingernail files. Using gills, tarpon can breathe in the oxygen from the water, but they can also utilize oxygen from the air in the atmosphere. Tarpon has a long row of lung-like material inside their swim bladder. This material allows the fish to live in low oxygen waters. Tarpon feed day and night. Their primary diet is needlefish, sardines, shrimp, and crab. Tarpons are incredibly strong and fast. These animals reproduce offshore, then their larvae swim back to the shallows to develop. Remember, never swim, snorkel, or dive alone, never bother the wildlife, and only leave footprints in the sand when you leave. I hope you learned something today and every day.
