Join Frank of Ocho Verde Wildlife for an incredible multi-night herping adventure in the rainforests of Costa Rica! Over the course of several nights, we sought out a variety of reptiles and amphibians. Our quest led to numerous encounters with the Fer-de-lance (Bothrops asper), also known as terciopelos—the most common and dangerous viper in the country.
But after extensive searching, we made a once-in-a-lifetime discovery: the beautiful and uncommon White-Tailed Hognose Viper (Porthidium porrasi). This secretive and rarely seen snake is a true highlight of the trip.
Watch as we navigate through the rainforest, highlighting the contrast between the abundant vipers and this special, rare find.
