Bear Mark, who was rescued in Dec 2020 after years of terrible captivity, has made a new friend at our sanctuary - a sweet marten! A marten is a cute weasel-like mammal, native to the forests where our BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach is in Austria ????.

The camera in Mark's enclosure captured this cute moment when the marten had come near Mark's den in search of food. Gentle Mark had no problem at all sharing ???? with his new friend.

Mark also had a furry friend back in Albania ????????: a cat ???? who lived in the restaurant next door.

This camera means we can witness these lovely ❤️ moments of Mark's life, but also monitor Mark more closely without disturbing him.

After being kept in a cage next to a restaurant for years, Mark now lives his life in safety at our BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach in Austria ????????.

This sanctuary provides rescued bears with a species-appropriate home with extensive wooden enclosures, and 14,000 square metres to roam.
