In this video, I build a simple Iwagumi aquascape using Seiryu stone in a low-tech planted aquarium with no CO₂. This setup focuses on clean stone placement, negative space, and a minimal plant palette.
The tank is the Planet Aquariums Tideline Bookshelf (39.5"L x 11.5"H x 11.5"W), lit by the Finnex Vivid+ planted aquarium light (which was sent over for me to test, and I’ve already posted an unboxing on the channel). Filtration is handled by a Fluval 207 canister filter paired with Neo Aquarium Neo Flow lily pipes for clean lines and good flow.
Tank & Equipment:
• Aquarium: Planet Aquariums Tideline Bookshelf
• Light: Finnex Vivid+ (testing unit)
• Filter: Fluval 207 Canister Filter
• Lily Pipes: Neo Aquarium Neo Flow
• Substrate: Prodibio AquarGrowth Soil
• CO₂: None (low-tech setup)
Hardscape & Plants:
• Hardscape: Seiryu Stone
• Plant: Dwarf Baby Tears (Hemianthus callitrichoides)
This Iwagumi aquascape is intentionally simple and low-tech, focusing on layout and fundamentals rather than equipment or injection systems.
