Copper-headed trinket snake
Average length of Copper-headed trinket is 1.5m. It can grows upto about 2.3m. Scales are weakly keeled in adults. Dorsal color gray ish-brown to reddish brown with four black stripes on anterior half of body which also have laterally arranged chains. Posterior body patterns faint or absent. Head elongated, not depressed and broader than neck. Head color copper with a fine black streak on nape which joins with a same color streak coming behind the eyes. Two more streaks starts from eyes and pass through upper lips. Eyes have rounded pupil.
If get threatened immediately inflates much of forebody, keeps it above the ground with open mouth and hissing to look bigger. If get closer it tries to bite multiple time. If defence strategy fails it fold the neck and turn the ventral side up to act like a dead snake.
Feeds on rodents, birds, small mammals, lizards and frogs.
Copper-headed Trinket is a diurnal and terrestrial species. Often seen at heights in search of birds and rodents. This species occurs in wet and dry forests, grasslands, plantations, agricultural fields, and suburban and urban areas.

ধুন্দুলী ফেঁটী সাপৰ গড় দৈৰ্ঘ্যতা ১.৫ মি. সৰ্বাধিক প্ৰায় ২.৩ মি.। প্ৰাপ্ত বয়স্কৰ বাকলি সমূহত সামান্য ভাবে সিৰা থকা। শৰীৰ ধোঁৱা-মূগাৰ পৰা ৰঙা-মূগা বৰণৰ, ডিঙিৰ পৰা দীঘল কৈ চাৰিডাল ক’লা দাগ শৰীৰৰ মাজলৈকে থাকে, শৰীৰৰ আগ অংশত দুয়ো পাৰে শিকলীৰ দৰে দাগ থাকে। মূৰ তাম বৰণীয়া, গলধনত এটা পথালি ক’লা দাগ থাকে। চকুৰ পৰা তিনিটা পাতল ক’লা দাগ ওলায়। এটা তলৰ ফাললৈ, এটা পিছলৈ হেলনীয়া হৈ ওঠৰ বাকলিলৈ আৰু অন্যটো পিচলৈ গলধনৰ ক’লা দাগটো লৈকে থাকে। চকুৰ মণী বৃত্তাকাৰ।
বিপদত পৰিলে শৰীৰৰ আগ ভাগ ফুলাই, মাটিৰ পৰা দাঙি ৰাখে আৰু মুখ খন খুলি ফোচফোচায়। অধিক কাষলৈ গ’লে শৰীৰৰ আগ অংশ ভাঁজ কৰি ৰয় আৰু দূৰলৈকে কামোৰাৰ চেষ্টা কৰে। এনেদৰে নিজকে বচোৱাত অসমৰ্থ হ’লে, শৰীৰৰ তলভাগ ওপৰৰ ফালে ঘুৰাই, ডিঙিটো বেঁকা কৰি মৰাৰ অভিনয় কৰে।

ধুন্দুলী ফেঁটী সাধাৰনতে দিবাচৰ মাটিত বাস কৰা সাপ। ইহঁতক চৰাই, এন্দুৰ আদি বিচাৰি সঘনাই ওপৰত বগাই ফুৰা দেখা যায়। আৰ্দ্ৰ আৰু শুস্ক বনাঞ্চল, ঘাঁহনি, কাঠনি, খেতি-পথাৰ আদিৰ লগতে গ্ৰামাঞ্চল আৰু চহৰতো ইহঁতক পোৱা যায়।
