Sad to say My African Bullfrog Predator passed away at the beginning of the month from A disease called sticky tongue. By the time we figured out what was going on & got her to the vet we got her on meds but it was too late she passed the next day. ????????????
She was lacking Vitamin A which led to the sticky tongue disease which prevented her from catching and eating her food to The point that she would stop even trying to eat them. I’ve been started holding food in front of her mouth with the tongs until she was able to swallow items down. Then she stopped eating all together and buried herself, I would dig her up and offer food tour but she would not eat she looked healthy nice and round so I figured she was probably going into estivation. Then she started moving slowly that’s when I knew things was getting worse and set an appointment with the vet. But It was to late already. I was Under The impression that Rapashy Calcium Plus had vitamin a that was enough for our amphibians? Come to find out you have to buy the “Repashy Vitamin A” supplement specifically for your amphibians. After four years we’re just now finding this out. So I made sure I got a bottle for the rest of our amphibious friends!
