Originating from the coasts of Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa, the patterns of Nerite snails range from stripes to zigzags to spots! One of the best algae-eating organisms, Nerite snails tirelessly graze on unwanted algae and other organic material. They are easy to care for, provided calcium levels are adequate and the water is sufficiently alkaline. If correctly acclimated, they can thrive in freshwater, brackish, and even marine environments!
