One of my favourite frogs we had the pleasure of finding in Costa Rica, the Granular poison frog (Oophaga granulifera). Oophaga translates to obligate egg eater. The female frog deposits fertilized eggs in bromeliad pools where they eventually develop into tadpoles. From there, she will visit the plants housing her offspring to feed them with her unfertilized eggs until they metamorphose into froglets ????. Unfortunately this species is listed as vulnerable due to deforestation and loss of habitat.
