Conner's 1st Toad and Snake - What a fun day Herping!!!

I took my Grandson Conner to Sculpture Park in Franklin Massachusetts. He found his first Toad - American Toad - Anaxyrus americanus.

We also took a nature walk at Mass Audubon Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk Massachusetts and Conner saw his first Snake - Northern Water Snake - Nerodia sipedon.
What a great day!! Conner is officially a Herper now.

Herping is the act of searching for amphibians or reptiles. The term, often used by professional and amateur herpetologists, comes from the word "herp", which comes from the same Greek root as herpetology, herpet-, meaning "creeping".
