Ferreting a rabbit warren after two days of heavy snow with Hera an albino jill ferret and Zeus a polecat ferret.

Ferrets are surprisingly resilient in colder weather thanks to their thick, insulating fur and natural ability to adapt to lower temperatures. Their dense winter coat helps trap warmth close to the body, while their playful, active nature keeps them moving and generating heat. Although they can tolerate chilly conditions better than heat, ferrets still rely on sheltered spaces and bedding to stay comfortable, showing a hardy balance between their physiology and behavior when facing the cold.
