This footage shows Moore Reef, 47km from Cairns, where both hard and soft corals released sex cell bundles, filling the water with eggs and sperm. Dr Abbi Scott, the Cairns-Port Douglas Reef Hub Coordinator and a James Cook University researcher, says the event provides 'an opportunity to fast-track world-leading research to safeguard its future from the impacts of climate change'
