In March 2024, Mars Sustainable Solutions [MSS] ventured to the Middle East, introducing the MARRS method for the first time to the reefs of Saudi Arabia. In partnership with KAUST, coral probiotics were trialed on outplanted fragments within the Coral Probiotic Village. Being the first trials in situ, the team aimed to translate knowledge gained in the lab into the real world. The results of these studies could be vital in reducing coral mortality and shaping restoration in a changing world.
