I talk about my upcoming book, Aquatic Habitats - Inspired by Nature with George Farmer, who is not only my great friend, but my collaborator and photographer on the project.

The book is a step by step guide to creating biotope aquaria (aquarium displays designed to represent a particular habitat or region) and will feature over 50 displays from around the world.

Although the goal is to create natural and authentic looking displays, we are working to to include elements of aquascaping in order to produce biotopes that not only look the part, but which are beautiful. Forget the old stereotypes of "some sand, a few leaves and branches and blackwater" and say hello to rapids, swamps, plant-filled streams, seasonal pools, flood meadows, mighty rivers and vast, deep lakes.

The book is being made possible by a host of sponsors and collaborators and will be filled not only with my knowledge and experience, but also that of biologists, aquarists, conservationists and explorers from around the world, providing information on the habitats from which many of our most popular aquarium fish and plants originate.

The book is due to be out in late 2023.
