We’re excited about American Eels ????
These cool creatures start their lives in the Sargasso Sea and travel thousands of miles before arriving to coastal waters from Greenland all the way down to Brazil!
They spend most of their lives in rivers, either moving far upstream or staying closer to the coast.
They then make the journey all the way back to the Sargasso before they presumably spawn and die.
We’re studying the 2 juvenile stages of American Eel, glass eels and elvers, with @LCRAvideo and @uhclearlake to better understand when eels start arriving into Texas waters.
