Walruses prefer to lie in groups, although space on the coast is limited at times, and males are quite territorial.
When there isn't enough room, young or weaker Walruses will scale the cliff to find a spot to rest. They must return to sea after spending a long period resting on the cliff, feeling hungry, or because of a polar bear. Hundreds of Walruses, desperate to survive, plunge from a cliff they should not have. Unfortunately, many of them do not survive the autumn.
