Setting up a 2 gallon vase aquarium ecosystem

Part one of turning this vase into an aquarium ecosystem. I started out by adding a layer of crushed lava rock. This helps raise the substrate higher so I can use less aquasoil. It also provides a place for beneficial bacteria to live. For the main layer of substrate I used aquasoil. That provides the nutrients that the plants need to thrive. I found this cool piece of driftwood, and I used superglue to attach anubias and Christmas moss to it. The next part will be adding the rest of the plants, and then filling it with water! You’ll be shocked to see what plants I chose!
