The blue whale (Balaenoptmusculus) is the largest marine mammal ever existed. With a length of up to 30 meters and weighing up to 200 tons, the blue whale has a long, bluish-gray body and a pointed head. They are krill feeders, a type of plankton, and are able to filter up to four tons of food per day through giant plates in their mouths. Blue whales often migrate in small groups and produce unique sounds that can be heard underwater. Although serious conservation efforts are needed, the blue whale is considered one of nature's most amazing wonders.
