Giant moray eels can grow up to 3 metres in length. They are opportunistic, carnivorous predators and primarily nocturnal, hunting out prey within the coral reef.
These moray eels are not usually aggressive but they have been known to bite if threatened, cornered or in the presence of food.
We spotted this one whilst snorkelling in the Bora Bora lagoon.
