Out late at night in search of some bugs to film…when I heard a loud crashing thud. I went to investigate, expecting to be faced with a very disgruntled looking possum. Turns out it was this little guy, a ‘White-lipped Tree Frog’, also known as ‘Giant Tree Frogs’ (Litoria infrafrenata). Must have dive bombed from the top of the canopy with the noise it made.
These frogs are the largest species we have here in Australia, and the largest tree frog species in the world (growing around 14cm in length). Their colour can vary from a yellowish-brown to a vibrant green, depending on their temperature, surrounding environment, and mood. Looks like this one was enjoying the rain. I certainly wasn’t. ????️????????
