When breeding Red Cherry Shrimp or any type of Neocaridina Shrimp, it's important to avoid having more males than females. If the males outnumber the females, the females may become stressed during the breeding process. Breeding occurs right after a female molts. During this time, she hides and releases pheromones that trigger a frenzied response in the males, causing them to seek her out for mating. If a female is constantly chased by multiple males, she could become stressed, which might even lead to her death. To minimize this risk, consider maintaining a ratio of three females for every one male.
