the Mongolian grerbils also known as jirds as there name suggests come from the high arid desert like land in Mongolia, they are active day and night unlike us the take short power naps through out the day and are happest in a group, since they are a very ocial animal, they have a relatively short life span of 2 to 5 yearts.

Another Africran resident ,the amazing little mammals are active during the day , thy get there name from there reddish orange spiny fur that covers its back , this course inflexible fur is a defence against predators , they are themselves ominvre surviving on a mix of seedsplants snails and ins4ects, they have a relatively short life span in the wild up to 3 years but can live up to 7 in captivity.

this portion of the video is filmed both in day light and under blue light ,the barbary stripped mouse is a grass mouse with distintive black strips along its back which helps them keep camouflaged in the thick gras, they can live in large family bunits and the femles are only pregnant for 3 weeks and can have mutable litters a year, they come from northern Africa in the wild they have a very short life span of on average 6 months but in captivity they can live up to 3/4 and a half years

these little mice where considered critically endangered and only a few zoo in the world where allowed to have them Chester zoo( I will be travling to chester soon enough so if you want another video on these little guys let me know in the comments below, they where also displayed in riga and one of my faveriote zoos Prague where I actually filmed them for this video, Tallinn and Helsinki zoo . sadly there status is indeterminate at the mon=ment meanining there is not enough data for the iucn to ma a desion of what there latest status is

the African pygmy mouse is only about 2 inches long and weighs about 5 to 6 grams, that is small they are among the smallest mammals globally, they come from sub Saharan African region
