We watched the little guy in this video disappear into a black hole – usually a one-way-only deal - and somehow, after a bit of a struggle, he managed to get back out. Extraordinary. And apparently it was so much fun he had to do it all again.
Seriously though? What was this raccoon thinking? “Maybe there are peanuts down here?” “I bet there isn’t a scorpion or a brown recluse spider in this log.” “It’s quite difficult to squeeze my ample little arse into this hollow stump, but I’m sure I’ll be able to get back out.” Insane.
Dan and I watched this happen in real-time and wondered if we were going to have to go out and help extricate the little fellow but, of course, raccoons can get into everything and they can also get out of (almost) everything, and no human assistance was required.
