This live webinar was recorded on June 2, 2022. It is part of the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound's "A Celebration of Nantucket Sound" (ACONS) educational series celebrating the Sound's rich environment, history, culture, and positive economic impact to the Cape & Islands.
Our guest speaker for this episode is Karen Moore Dourdeville, the Sea Turtle Stranding Coordinator for Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary working in all aspects of the Sea Turtle Rescue, Recovery and Research Program, including cold-stun rescue, summer stranding response, summer sightings database and research from cold-stun necropsies. Prior to this, Karen worked with protected marine species at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
For this webinar, Karen presented an overview of the four species of sea turtles that feed in our waters and she explored the different aspects of Wellfleet Bay’s sea turtle work.
