Ember Tetra - Species Spotlight

Now the ember tetra or Hyphessobrycon amandae, is an adorable nano fish that is great to aquairsts of all experience. In the wild they are found most heavily in Central Brazil in this River Basin right here Araguaia River basin. In nature they like backwater rivers with low currents and a very high amount of vegetation. Eating a combination of plants and very small invertebrates. They are extremely peaceful and are compatible with lots of tank mates. One of the main draws of these fish is their coloration, a bright pop of orange red in your tank, hence the name ember as they look like embers in a fire.
