Geophagus Sveni | Care Guide & Species Profile

Today's video is a care guide and species profile on the Geophagus sveni. Geophagus sveni are beautiful cichlids with grey, red and blue colors that really stand out in a tank, and they are a South American cichlid. As with other Geophagus species, they are "earth eaters", meaning they sift through the sandy bottom of their environment looking for leftover food.

Due to their temperament, coloration, and behavior, they are compatible tank mates with some American cichlids. Tank mate options that will usually work well are Severums, Electric Blue Acaras, Angelfish, other Geophagus, and larger barbs or tetras.
