In this video i will be going through 5 of the best animal parents in the world. In the animal kingdom there are both good parents and bad parents. Some animals produce thousands of offspring and show no parental care and others only produce a few young and put a lot of time and effort into making sure that they survive and make it to maturity. Humans win the award for best parents but there are plenty of animals that make great parents.

For our first great animal parent we will be heading to north America as we have the killdeer. The killdeer temps would be predators away from its ground nest by faking an injury.

For our next species we will be heading to both north America and Asia as we have the wolverine. The wolverine is a very feisty aggressive predator which is surprising very caring towards it's young. The mother wolverine will put her life on the line to protect her kits.

For our next great animal parent we will be heading the Antarctica as we have the king penguin. The king penguin is the second largest penguin in the world, second only the the emperor penguin. The king penguin does a very good job and protecting it's chicks from both predators and the elements.

For our next species we will be heading over to Africa as we have the African elephant. The African elephant is the worlds largest land mammal but it still faces threats from predators. Female elephants all pitch in to help new mothers and new calves in the family group.

For our final great animal parent we will be heading to Borneo and Sumatra as we have the orangutan. The orangutan is one of the most intelligent great apes and shares around 96% of our DNA. Orangutans are great mothers and teach their young the skills needed to survive.
