This video is about fragging my WWC Aussie Blue Gold Hammer Coral. I am going to go through the tools I use when I frag and how I do it.

Typical frag kit comes with bone cutters, scissors, scalpels, and tweezers. I used this for many years as my sole source of fragging, but have moved onto a cordless Dremel with a cutting wheel.

I use a Dremel 7300 with cutting wheels. Do not use serrated cutting wheels, those will splinter and damage the coral.

Other tools needed:
- Super glue gel
- Frag plug or disc
- Container of tank water
*Note - I recommend using cured frag plugs and discs.

When taking any Euphyllia out of the tank, move it around so the heads close as much as possible to reduce stress to the heads and prevent pulling and stressing the flesh and skin of the coral.

When you cut, you want one smooth cut straight through, far enough down that you are only cutting through dead skeleton. Do not cut through the flesh or skin.
*Note - cutting through the skin does not mean the coral will automatically die, but it does create risk for it to die or get infected. Go through dead skeleton only, I have never lost a coral or had an infection issue cutting through dead skeleton.

Then put the frag on the plug that already has super glue gel applied to it and put that in the water reservoir for the glue to cure.
*Note - do not put the frag plug with glue in the water reservoir prior to putting the coral on the plug or the glue will start to cure and make it difficult to stick. Also, the plug and based of the coral being glued should be as dry as possible.

I have fragged on demand with this method and have had great results without having to wait for the coral to “heal.” If you are only cutting dead skeleton, there really isn’t anything that needs to heal.
