Add Mulberry leaves to my Walstad Aquariums for the Neos ????❤️????
Mulberry leaves are an excellent natural food source, rich in essential minerals like calcium, potassium, and iron. These nutrients support healthy exoskeleton development and overall shrimp health.
Aquarium-grade mulberry leaves are usually free from pesticides, sterilized or pre-rinsed. If the packaging says they’re safe for aquarium use, you can usually add them directly.
But I don’t like them floating in the aquarium when I just added them. As such, I will steep the mulberry leaves in hot water to waterlog them, making them softer so that the shrimp can feed on them faster. And also sterilise them again.
I will wait for the leaves to cool down completely before adding them into my aquariums. The neocaridina shrimps really enjoy them!
