Elephants are the world's largest land mammals. The three remaining elephant species are Indian, savannah, and forest elephants. Indian elephants have short ears and are substantially smaller than the other two types. Africa is home to both Savannah and Forest elephants. Due to rising killing and habitat destruction, all elephants are critically endangered.
