The main characteristics of elephants are large bodies and long trunks. Currently there are only two elephant species, namely the Asian elephant and the African elephant. The elephant family is led by a female, they are selected based on the oldest age. Elephants apparently sleep only 4 hours a night, and most of them sleep standing up. African elephants weigh around 4 to 7 tons, while Asian elephants weigh about 3 to 5 tons. They also take 16 hours to eat. Elephants have large brains, weighing about 4.5 kg, they are also intelligent and can remember well. Female elephants can be pregnant for up to 22 months. Elephants are big, but they are also good at swimming. They often use their trunks to shake hands with their companions.
