Collecting Bogbean (Menyanthes trifoliata) | Pond Plants for a DIY Ecosystem Jar ????????

One of the first plants I’m adding to this mini ecosystem build is bogbean (Menyanthes trifoliata), a fascinating wetland species that thrives in shallow water and along muddy pond edges. Its three clover-like leaves are easy to recognize, and beyond its beauty, bogbean plays an essential role in many pond ecosystems and in my nano aquarium /ecosystem bowl.

✅ Why bogbean is perfect for jar ecosystems & aquariums:
Helps oxygenate the water naturally
Provides shelter and cover for tiny creatures like insect larvae and snails
Creates shade and reduces algae growth
Supports biodiversity in closed ecosystems, aquascapes, and biotope jars

If you’re interested in DIY aquarium plants, self-sustaining ecosystem jars, or aquascaping with native pond species, bogbean is an excellent choice. Watch as I collect it from a local pond and prepare it to become part of this resurrection bowl project.
