Are "night drops" actually beneficial, or is that another myth? Reducing temperature at night is always a good idea — one of the main reasons is because this is one of the ways reptiles evolved to distinguish between day and night! However, exactly how much of a temperature difference there needs to be varies by species and even stage of life.
As an additional note to what's covered in this video, keep in mind that particularly young reptiles (i.e. hatchlings, newborns) tend to be delicate and may not tolerate steep temperature fluctuations well.
