Running a reptile rescue and breeding facility comes with its exciting challenges. It’s one thing dealing with turtles and tortoises but what happens when you have a giant, angry lizard that can be very, VERY dangerous? Our rhinoceros iguanas “Blu” and “Rocky” are usually total sweethearts, kind of like reptilian puppies, but now Blu has a nest of eggs and she will do anything to protect it. In this video we work hard to carefully and safely remove her eggs so that they can incubate and hatch. Rhino iguanas are known to be tame and social animals but like anything with teeth, they will not hesitate to defend themselves if they feel threatened. With their massive jaws, sharp teeth and long, spiked tails, they can inflict serious lacerations by biting hard or by whipping. See what happens when this tame dinosaur becomes agitated, aggressive and outright attacks.
