It features fine, feathery green leaves that resemble Cabomba but is much easier to grow. Its soft, bushy appearance makes it a popular choice for background planting, creating depth and a natural feel in aquariums.

This plant is well-suited for low-tech and Walstad-style aquariums because it adapts easily to a wide range of water conditions and doesn’t require CO₂ injection. It thrives under moderate lighting and can grow steadily even with minimal fertilization, benefiting from nutrients in the soil or from fish waste in a balanced ecosystem.

In a Walstad setup, its fast growth helps outcompete algae by absorbing excess nutrients, while its dense foliage provides cover for shrimp and small fish. It’s also easy to propagate.
