It's Griffin the barn owl's first time out of the nest and his siblings seem to be cheering him on.

BARN OWL CHICK CHEER
As 7-week old Griffin makes his first leap onto a platform beneath the box, his younger sibling Fern calls out as if in support. And the commotion attracts the eldest of the brood, Freya, to join in too. Watch as she circles Griffin, encouraging him.
BARN OWLS OF FOTHERDALE
Griffin is one of three chicks raised by long time barn owl residents of Fotherdale Farm, Gylfie & Finn. Sadly these youngsters lost their father and main provider last month and have had to make the final transitions to adulthood alone.
SUPPLEMENT FOOD
Normally at this stage the adult barn owl would continue to provide food for his youngsters until they are able to hunt for themselves. Since Finn passed, I have been providing to ensure they survive.
SURVIVORS
But all three seem to be strong survivors. Follow their story here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx09JDaWUEFPztNvVpVf7yCvfCRwFv0HU

I am a British wildlife artist based in Thixendale, North Yorkshire, UK. I build ideal habitats to encourage wildlife into my garden and use nest cams to study their behaviour. These studies inform my paintings. I share the best of my video research on this channel for free. If you would like to support my work please consider a small donation here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=A52ZHAMJZC3J4
Or of course you may like to purchase my artwork which you will find on my website: https://www.robertefuller.com. Many of the paintings are portraits of the creatures you watch here!
