Time to trim my Low-tech No Filter Simple Walstad Aquarium ☘️????????????

This aquarium has been in need of a trim for a while. I finally have time to prune the plants and perform a water change.

About this aquarium

Inhabitants:
1) Wild type guppies
2) Chocolate Neocaridina Shrimp
3) Ramshorn Snails
~
Plants:
1) Cryptocoryne Parva
2) Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown
3) Vallisnera
4) Pearlweed
5) Dwarf water lettuce

Substrate:
Potting soil capped with sand and lava rocks.

Light:
IKEA TERTIAL Work Lamp with Philips 8W LED Coolday light

Photo period: 10 hours with 4 hours siesta period. Light on for 5 hours, off for 4 hours and then turn again for 5 hours.
~
According to Diana Walstad, plants consume the available CO2 by around midday. Taking a siesta allows the CO2 levels to replenish, providing enough for the plants to use again in the afternoon.
