Reef survey video January 17th 2022. First signs of bleaching stress observable in the Magnetic Island corals as water temperatures get close to 31C. Porites, Turbinaria, and some Acroporids are getting very pale, but the majority of the coral assemblage still looking OK, and the farming damselfish doing a great job at natural reef restoration with beautiful baby corals in their farms.
We collected 5oo geotagged reef survey images at two sites in Nelly Bay and one site in Geoffrey Bay at the snorkel trail. Thanks Barbara Lainz for the imagery collected with the TG6 cameras supplied by Olympus AU & NZ
